The Volunteer Driver scheme was introduced to reduce the demand on police vehicles across the force but has added benefits relating to officer time, efficiency and effectiveness.

The Volunteer Driver will be required to provide transport for a variety of activities. These can include:

• Transporting officers or items between stations

• Transporting vehicles between stations and workshops

• Transporting personnel to appointments

 

Tasks will be dependent on demand and geographic area and will differ across Devon and Cornwall. All volunteers are encouraged to support police personnel with local community engagement and events where possible

Please Note:

This role requires a driving licence check prior to being interviewed for the position.  A declaration and licence check form will be emailed to you if you are successful through the shortlisting stage, and prior to an interview being offered.  If this check shows an invalid licence unfortunately you will be withdrawn from the recruitment process.

 

This role requires a full clean manual driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months
