Additional information about Positive Action

Devon & Cornwall Police aim to build a workforce to reflect the rich diversity and complexity of our communities by attracting the best talent from the widest pool of people.

We use the term "under-represented" to describe where the diversity of the communities we serve is not accurately represented in our workforce and are proud to have a policy where we utilise Positive Action to help us achieve this.

Please visit our dedicated Positive Action page on the main recruitment site for more information about our support, details on jobs with the police and our upcoming awareness events and webinars.

We have a dedicated team who offer support through various initiatives, which include:

  • 1-2-1 contact
  • Identifying & addressing barriers
  • Webinars
  • Drop in centres
  • Engagement in the community
  • Online support programmes for Police Constable & Detective Constable recruitment preparation
  • 1-2-1 support sessions

We are currently under-represented by:

  • Women (Police Constable/Detective Constable roles)
  • Black, Asian and Ethnically Diverse people
  • Disabled people and people with neurodiversity

If you fall within any of the under-represented groups you will be eligible to access the support we offer. Register for Positive Action Support Here
