Our Force covers a hugely diverse geographic area, from the dramatic cliffs of the Jurassic Coast to rolling hills inland. Although Dorset is predominantly rural, we also police Bournemouth & Poole, an urban area larger than most British cities, and many towns and villages.

National Firearms Instructor Constable
As part of our training team you will provide Firearms Training to both in force and national students to nationally accredited standards. Continue to provide an operational support dimension for the organisation, maintaining effectiveness and competence within an agreed operational or functional area by undertaking a range of activities within a particular role, either as part of the normal pattern of work or as a part of the provision of effective operational resilience. You must be a national firearms instructor and a current ARV role profile holder.

Child Abuse Investigation Team
Opportunities have arisen within the Child Abuse Investigation Team at Bournemouth/Weymouth for accredited Detective Constables.
Successful candidates will be expected to work across Dorset, combining solid investigative expertise with a strong community and partnership focus.

Armed Response Vehicle Constable
As one of the first on the scene at firearms incidents across the force area, you’ll play a vital role in keeping members of the public safe and secure. You will be the primary response to firearms incidents across the county and will also provide visible, proactive policing support for front line policing colleagues.

Tactical Firearms Team Constable
As part of our Tactical Firearms Team you will be first on the scene at firearms incidents across the force area, you’ll play a vital role in keeping members of the public safe and secure. You will be the primary response to planned firearms incidents across the county including the provision of MASTS and dynamic search and will also provide visible, proactive policing support for front line policing colleagues. You must be a currently qualified specialist firearms officer to include the ARV role profile.

At SWROCU, we work with local forces and national partners to target and disrupt the criminals posing the greatest risk to residents and businesses in our region. This includes offenders involved in cybercrime, economic crime, drug conspiracies, modern slavery and human trafficking, organised immigration crime, and child sexual abuse and exploitation.
